PANORAMIC VIEWS and just about 2.5 miles off the main highway and sitting right on top of the WILD HORSE MESA! This is a huge, 80 acre (2 - 40 acre adjoined parcels) package. There are plenty of trees to help you feel more secluded. However; if the new owner wants to build, it is possible to do so without removing any trees. An old road cuts across this property, see the photos for it's placement. Access is on the Powerline Rd, but that road cuts through a smaller parcel to the south of the 80 acres. Views are of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the east, Mount Blanca in the North (making a total of 5 Colorado 14,000 ft+ mountain peaks) and the the San Luis Hills to the West. The San Juan Mountains are further out and to the West. On the day these photos were taken, there was smoke from wildfires burning in other states and as such, the usually crystal clear mountain views were diminished. From the pavement of Rt 159, it is just 12 miles to the New Mexico border and about an hour to Taos, NM. or drive about 20 minutes to the North to visit the historic Fort Garland Museum. There's plenty to see and do with a little drivetime. The Great Sand Dunes National Park: 45 min., Monte Vista about 70 min. (where 20,000 sandhill cranes stop over during their migrations,) or Red River Ski Area about 50 min.
